StrasburgerPRIDE™ is the firm’s commitment to elevating its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) attorneys and professional staff by creating an environment that encourages LGBTQ individuals to bring their entire selves to their work. In an industry where LGBTQ professionals may feel the need to hide their personal identity or that of their family, Strasburger believes in fostering a culture that recognizes a fully present professional is a stronger client advocate better able to provide exemplary service synonymous with Strasburger.

To achieve these goals, Strasburger focuses on:

FIRM POLICIES
Turning a critical eye inward to build the most welcoming environment for our LGBTQ professionals to flourish. We regularly evaluate our standards, not only to comply with the basic EEOC guidelines, but with a view to assessing what offerings we can provide to same-sex spouses, transitioning employees, and others. Our inclusive culture welcomes our LGBTQ professionals’ partners, spouses and children to be active, visible participants at firm functions and celebrations. At Strasburger, we believe our LGBTQ attorneys and staff, like all firm employees, should feel supported in both their professional and personal goals.

RECRUITING PRACTICES
Regularly seeking out the best legal minds, including those within the LGBTQ community.  We actively support the national Lavender Law Career Fair and network with members of Lambda Legal, Equality Texas, and the Human Rights Campaign. We work with LGBTQ student organizations of law schools throughout Texas to identify those candidates who will best contribute to Strasburger and its clients. StrasburgerPRIDE reflects the firm’s commitment to and appreciation of LGBTQ inclusion in our attorney and professional staff ranks.

MENTORING & SPONSORSHIP
Empowering our LGBTQ attorneys so that they, like all Strasburger lawyers, have real opportunities to become leaders of the firm. We provide proactive support to our newest attorneys who are learning to navigate the law firm environment, monitor the structure of client teams to guarantee our LGBTQ attorneys are regularly included in quality work assignments, and advocate for rising LGBTQ stars to continue their climb within our ranks. Within Strasburger, our LGBTQ partners lead StrasburgerPRIDE and serve in pivotal firm management roles including practice unit leader and on the firm’s governing body. Outside of the firm, these attorneys are also leaders in the American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Women Lawyers Association, and more.

Offering our clientele legal representation that reflects the growing diversity within corporate America and throughout the places we work and live. Client demand for diverse firms and legal counsel is becoming increasingly more important – and in some cases is mandated by clients in order to obtain and retain their work.
