Julian Nihill practices international, transactional and tax law. He represents U.S. companies doing business overseas as well as foreign families and businesses investing in the United States.
Mr. Nihill heads the Strasburger office in Mexico City.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Lead attorney in acquisition of airline routes throughout the Caribbean and South America on behalf of major United States airline;
- Lead attorney in acquisition of Mexican chemical company on behalf of U.S. petrochemical company;
- Lead attorney in the sale of a U.S. chemical company by a Swiss group to a publicly traded Swedish company in exchange for a special issuance of stock;
- Represented a European communications company in a series of acquisitions in the United States;
- Represented one of three successful bidders for the contract to operate Mexico City’s potable water system;
- Represented major United States airline in establishing a joint venture with Mexican airline for the development of an airline reservation service in Mexico;
- Represented Fortune 500 energy company in its successful bid to build and operate an electric power transmission project in Peru;
- Represented worldwide developer in its joint venture with Mexican and Japanese partners to build and operate a thermoelectric generation project in Mexico;
- Planned the international tax structure for an oil industry consulting firm with operations worldwide;
- Representation of numerous Mexican and European families in structuring their U.S. investments to minimize U.S. income and estate tax consequences;
- Negotiation and drafting of international licensing agreements involving: software, restaurants, artistic design, technical know-how, etc; and
- Represented numerous U.S. real estate developers in structuring and negotiating Mexican real estate projects.
