DALLAS
- GRAPHIC ARTIST
Qualified candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in Graphic Design and working within a corporate/business environment. Must be able to design and prepare both internal and external client communication pieces. Projects will include creating print advertisements, business proposals, brochures, newsletters, presentations, collateral, invitations, booklets and manuals. Some projects may encompass determining concept and content, working with vendors and overseeing print and production. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of the leading graphics and design software applications including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Must exercise good judgment, be a cooperative team member, be client-service-oriented, be well organized, deadline-driven, have the ability to manage multiple priorities, and able to work independently. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to e-mail transmission of graphic files, such as the Firmīs logo, and the preparation of miscellaneous forms and projects as requested by the department. Must be dependable and trustworthy, and possess a demeanor in keeping with a professional legal office. Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field required. Law firm experience preferred, but not required. Creative people encouraged to apply.
- CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Strasburger & Price is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to work in it's Dallas office and to direct and manage information technology strategic plans, policies, programs and budgets to accomplish firm goals and objectives. The CIO will provide firm-wide leadership for all office's information technology and network operations functions, be responsible for guiding attorneys and support staff in the recommendation, implementation and support of technology to meet client and user needs, recommend practical solutions, evaluate future office technology needs, develop and manage staff, and participate in firm-wide efforts to continually improve the effective use of technology.
The CIO will report directly to the firm's Executive Director in Dallas in addition to the firm's Technology Committee. It is critical that the CIO understand how lawyers and support staff work with technology to serve client needs in order to make appropriate technology-related recommendations to management. Further, it is important that all recommendations be made clearly with an appropriate amount of background research and a detailed implementation plan. Accordingly, high-level project management skills are required. This position will manage the Information Technology, Library and Practice Support staff of more than 20, including four exempt manager/supervisor level direct reports. This would include review and evaluation of performance levels, recommendations regarding staffing, selection, compensation, promotions, disciplinary action and termination, as well as the organizational structure of the department.
Additional responsibilities include:
The development of information technology strategic plans and implementing the objectives of the information technology needs of the firm to ensure the hardware, software, and network capabilities are responsive to the needs of the firm's growth and objectives.
Communicate clearly and often with end users. Seek ways to provide support that will enable attorneys and staff to serve the firm's clients effectively. Possess the ability to communicate with all members of the firm, understanding their technology-related needs and making appropriate recommendations.
Keep abreast of technology, through regular reading,contact with vendors and peers,attendance at seminars, expositions,classes and professional meetings in order to provide recommendations for acquisition of necessary technology including hardware and software.
Development, review, and testing/certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans and ensuring the security of the information systems,firm and client data, communication lines, and equipment.
Assist in developing and facilitating a comprehensive training program for the IT staff to ensure that the staff can competently operate, maintain and upgrade all necessary systems.
Interact with lawyers and administrative managers on objectives and budgets to facilitate internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing and dissemination of information.
A minimum of twelve years of experience in information system management, preferably in a law firm environment, with at least eight years in a senior level managerial role. BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university preferably in computer science or related field. An advanced degree is highly desirable.
