DIVERSITY COMMITMENT

Our Commitment to Diversity

At Strasburger, diversity matters—not just with respect to race, but also with respect to background, life experiences, politics, religion, hobbies, tastes and community involvement.

Strasburger values the unique differences in people that are defined by education, family responsibilities, life and work experiences, personal values, personality profiles, work practice, and cultural, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. We also believe that these differences among our employees play a vital role in providing effective, efficient and consistent legal services to our clients. In our recruiting efforts, Strasburger seeks attorneys and staff with outstanding legal skills and diverse backgrounds that are reflective of the communities we serve.

Formal Diversity Statement

Strasburger embraces diversity and is committed to providing opportunities within all areas of our organization — whether legal or administrative — to all people regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, or disability.

Diversity & Community Relations Committee

Strasburger established a Diversity & Community Relations Committee in 2004 to further the firm’s goals composed of attorneys throughout our various offices, as well as Human Resources and Attorney Recruiting, Professional Development and Marketing personnel. The highest echelons of the firm's management are active members of the Diversity & Community Relations Committee, including the chair of the Policy Committee.
The Committee’s goals are:

  • Executing and supporting the firm's commitment to diversity;

  • Developing diversity training programs and activities for all personnel;

  • Integrating diversity objectives with recruiting strategies and continuing to pursue minority recruits;

  • Ensuring that minority attorneys are involved and visible through meaningful work, networking and business development activities with clients;

  • Communicating the firm’s commitment to a culture of diversity to current clients and prospective clients who are also pursuing a diverse workforce;

  • Increasing participation — both as a firm and as individual attorneys — in organizations with a focus on minority, women, or community development; and

  • Implementing a formal vendor/supplier diversity program.

Diversity in the Organization

Strasburger strives to achieve diversity in all levels of the organization. Our Employment Committee, along with the support of the firm's Policy Committee and Diversity & Community Relations Committee, has established aggressive hiring and advancement goals for minority attorneys by instituting recruitment and development initiatives.
The firm's diversity goals are not limited to attorneys. Our paralegals, legal secretaries, and other professional and administrative staff reflect the larger community.  More than 25% of Strasburger's non-attorney staff are from under-represented ethnic groups and more than 80% are women.
