Kathy Garber Receives TLA’s Distinguished Service Award

Strasburger & Price, LLP (Strasburger) is pleased to announce that Katherine Garber is the recipient of the 2017 Transportation Lawyers Association Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes distinguished and outstanding service to the TLA and dedication to the betterment of the association. Kathy received the recognition during the recent TLA Annual Conference.
“Kathy’s extensive trial experience in the transportation sector and her commitment to the industry make her an obvious choice for this award,” said Sam Hallman, co-chair of Strasburger’s Transportation & Logistics Team. “Strasburger attorneys are leaders not just in the legal profession, but within the industries where they practice. Kathy is no exception, having dedicated herself to finding solutions to the legal challenges transportation companies face.”
An experienced litigator, Kathy represents transportation and logistics clients in a variety of disputes, including business and commercial matters, personal injury and wrongful death claims, and cargo and freight claims. She has experience in insurance coverage issues relating to transportation and energy operations, both onshore and offshore.
Kathy serves as Motor Carrier Transportation Committee Co-Chair for the TLA and is a frequent speaker at the association’s conferences, as well as a contributor to The Transportation Lawyer, the TLA magazine. She has been elected to serve as Chairman of the Conference of Freight Counsel, a group of leading transportation attorneys nationwide, upon completion of her current term as Vice Chairman.
Kathy is a member of the Women’s Energy Network, a professional group for women in the energy industries, and currently serves as the Co-Chair of StrasburgerBOLD – Houston, the firm’s strategy to promote women within the firm, the legal profession, and the Houston business community.
