Ed Valdespino, PartnerJUNE 7, 2004 (San Antonio, Texas) — Strasburger & Price, LLP, a full-service law firm of 200 attorneys, is pleased to announce that Edward F. Valdespino has been appointed Partner-In-Charge of the San Antonio office. In his new role, Valdespino will have primary responsibility for the San Antonio office's operations and strategic growth.

"Ed has displayed an extraordinarily strong commitment to both his clients and colleagues, and we know that he will bring the same level of commitment to the San Antonio office. He is assuming the reins at an exciting time as we build on key additions to our San Antonio office, which include corporate attorney, David Cibrian, and intellectual property attorney, Alan Thiele," said Kirk Sniff, firm-wide Chairman and Managing Partner.

Mr. Valdespino, who will work closely with other firm leaders on plans to expand the San Antonio office, says, "I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue to grow our San Antonio office and enhance our existing strengths in corporate cross-border transactions, business litigation, tax, transportation, energy and environmental law. Strasburger is a place where excellence is valued and a warm, collegial atmosphere prevails. Those core strengths will be the basis for our future success."

In 2002, Valdespino was listed in Texas Lawyer's "The Go-To Guide." According to Colleen McGushin, Editor-in-Chief of Texas Lawyer, "The Go-To Guide is no ordinary 'best' list. The editors of Texas Lawyer spoke with hundreds of attorneys across the state and asked them who they would turn to if they needed representation in a particular practice area."

In practice for over 17 years, Valdespino is a leading litigator who focuses on first party insurance coverage and extra-contractual liability, transportation, aviation, toxic tort and environmental, and construction litigation. He has handled matters for clients such as Taco Cabana, Inc., Coca Cola Enterprises, United Airlines, and The Hartford Fire Insurance Company.

Mr. Valdespino joined Strasburger in 2001. He is a member of the firm's Governing Policy Committee, Practice Development Committee, and Diversity & Community Relation's Committee.

Mr. Valdespino is a frequent speaker and writer on insurance and transportation law matters. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort and Insurance Practice and Aviation Sections); State Bar of Texas (Litigation, Aviation and Hispanic Issues Sections); Texas Association of Defense Counsel; Defense Research Institute; American Trucking Association; Transportation Lawyers Association; Trucking Industry Defense Association; The Association for Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy; and The Conference of Freight Counsel.
