OCTOBER 24, 2005 (Houston, Texas) — The attorneys of Strasburger & Price, LLP once again demonstrate their commitment to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The firm will host its Fourth Annual Commitment to the Cure Luncheon on Wednesday, October 26, at Le Grand Salon de la Comtesse at La Colombe d'Or. This year's luncheon will honor Carolyn Farb, D, Hum, hc with Strasburger's inaugural "Commitment to the Cure Award." Strasburger selected Farb to receive this award because of her tireless efforts in the race to eradicate breast cancer. "Strasburger is proud to be able to help promote awareness of the important mission of the Komen Foundation and to honor survivor Carolyn Farb," stated Betsy Kamin, partner-in-charge of Strasburger's Houston office. "Both Komen and Carolyn continue to make a huge positive impact on our town." Andrew Halpern, vice president and general counsel for the Komen Foundation, adds "Strasburger's contribution to the Komen Foundation is exemplary and goes well beyond the normal bounds of good corporate citizenship. We also commend Carolyn Farb for her tireless dedication to the nonprofit community throughout the state of Texas and for her work in inspiring others to follow her well-blazed path. As a breast cancer survivor, Carolyn's willingness to share her experience with others continues to broaden the reach of breast cancer awareness and encourages the community to become involved in their own health by joining the fight against breast cancer." In addition to hosting and underwriting the costs of the "Kick-Off"
Luncheons in Houston and Dallas, Strasburger shows its dedication to the
Komen Foundation by sponsoring "Team Strasburger" at five Komen Race for
the Cure Events® across the country, averaging a total of 185
participants. Strasburger employees participate in Lee National Denim
Day®, with 100 percent of donations going to the Komen Foundation. The
firm not only supports the Komen Foundation financially, but also through
the continuation of pro bono legal services. Strasburger's dedication to
eradiating breast cancer as a life threatening disease is also apparent by
its recent sponsorship of the Pink Ribbon Project's Tour de Pink.
