EXPERIENCE

  • Successfully negotiated competing claims among partners relative to intellectual property developed in connection with a technology incubator located in Dallas.
  • Obtained a $5M+ judgment in a Dallas state court on behalf of a bank client seeking to enforce loan guarantees made by a group of California-based investors.
  • Represented a Saudi company in litigation involving tortious interference with gas field contracts in Turkmenistan.
  • Won a verdict for payment of 100% of its requested damages plus attorneys’ fees for a high-end residential construction company which had been locked out of the premises by the purchaser who refused to make payment –and who had counterclaimed alleging breach of contract and DTPA causes of action.
  • Received a favorable verdict at trial (and on appeal) for an equipment manufacturer in a case claiming breach of contract and warranty related to newly designed riser tensioner systems for offshore drilling rigs.
  • Achieved successful defense of international valve company in fraud and DTPA action by former distributor seeking over $50M in damages.
  • Successfully represented owners of ranch which raised organic and NHTC certified Kobe been in Travis County, Texas in which the State of Texas sued to acquire a substantial part of the ranch to build a new state highway.
  • Won a $1.5M verdict for an oil and gas exploration company mineral interest owner – originally a defendant, the client made counterclaims, summary judgment was granted in its favor as to Plaintiff’s claims and upon motion, the client was realigned as Plaintiff.
  • Secured health care reimbursement in excess of $3M on behalf of hospital system.
  • Won summary judgment at trial court level (affirmed on appeal) for a company which owns surgery centers in a suit filed by large health insurance company alleging overpayment in the amount of $1.5M.
  • Obtained defense jury verdict in Texas state district court for oil field services client accused of lease violations and creating environmental contamination at properties located in Texas and Louisiana.
