Travel Ban Stay Lifted
On December 4, 2017, the Supreme Court issued a decision allowing the latest Travel Ban to take full effect while legal challenges to it in lower courts continue to be heard.
The current Travel Ban, the third version issued by the Trump administration, places restrictions to entry into the United States on foreign nationals from Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen. As with previous versions, the most recent Travel Ban’s implementation has been delayed by legal challenges, this time in Federal Courts in Hawaii and Maryland.
Today, the Supreme Court allowed for the Ban to take effect while these underlying challenges move through the legal system.
